Public Enthusiasm Overflows at Thanksgiving Event, UMKM Snacks in the Spotlight

Karawang Regent Aep Syaepuloh and Deputy Regent Maslani apologized for the inconvenience experienced by residents while attending the thanksgiving event at the Nyi Pager Asih Karawang Gallery on Thursday (20/2/2025) afternoon.

During the event, various snacks from MSMEs were provided free of charge to the public as a form of gratitude for their inauguration which was held at the Presidential Palace by President Prabowo Subianto.

"We deliberately invited the public to join in celebrating this moment together. However, we did not expect the enthusiasm of the residents to be so great, resulting in congestion at the location," said Aep.

The large number of people who attended caused crowding and there were some people who did not have time to get the snacks provided.

"We apologize to the public who feel uncomfortable. This is not something that was intentional, but beyond our expectations," he added.

Aep also explained that he and the other regional heads arrived late at the thanksgiving event because after the inauguration, they attended a friendly session and shook hands directly with President Prabowo Subianto.

"This simultaneous inauguration is a new history in Indonesia, and of course it is a source of pride for us to be inaugurated and greeted directly by the president," he said.

In closing, Aep expressed his appreciation to the people of Karawang who had attended the event and provided support since the beginning of the 2024 Pilkada.

"I thank all the residents of Karawang Regency who have come and supported us. Now is the time for us to unite to build Karawang to be more advanced," he concluded.

Meanwhile, Karawang residents seemed enthusiastic to attend the thanksgiving event. Many came since noon to enjoy free UMKM snacks provided by the local government as part of the celebration of the inauguration of their new leader.
